Dr. Patricia Lucas – Senior Lecturer –School of Sport and Recreation, Auckland University of Technology

Tricia has been a committed member of WILNZ (formerly NZACE) since 2009. For many years she has been actively involved in the cooperative education program (year 3), and more recently work-integrated learning (WIL) components (year 2) of the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation (BSR) at AUT. This role is comprised of leading papers/modules, developing and implementing WIL curriculum and assessments, mentoring novice academic supervisors, liaison with industry partners and leading the school WIL team. Her PhD thesis research was a qualitative case study methodology in WIL with a focus on understanding students engagement in critical reflection while on placement in their final year of the BSR. Her current research interests lie in practices of reflection, emotions in WIL, and perspectives of employability.
